Visiting the Burj Khalifa in Dubai in 2026: Tickets, Prices, and Feedback from an actual visit
The Burj Khalifa is one of Dubai’s must-see attractions. Standing 828 meters tall, the world’s tallest tower offers breathtaking views from its three observation decks located on the 124th, 125th, and even 148th floors.
We’ve visited the Burj Khalifa several times, most recently in February 2024. Here’s our experience and what we really thought: the differences between the floors, how much tickets cost, where and when to book them at the best price. We explain everything in our practical guide.

Tickets to Visit the Burj Khalifa: 3 Observation Decks at Different Heights
To go up to the Burj Khalifa and enjoy the breathtaking view, you can choose from 3 types of tickets. These tickets correspond to the Burj Khalifa’s 3 observation decks. At the Top on the 124th and 125th floors, At the Top Sky on the 148th floor, and The Lounge on the 152nd floor.

Burj Khalifa At the Top Tickets: 124th and 125th Floors
This is the standard ticket and the least expensive option to go up the Burj Khalifa. Admission is by time slot. Be sure to arrive at the specified time; otherwise, you will not be able to enter.

To avoid the lines, it’s best to book online as early as possible. Time slots are often fully booked 20 to 30 days in advance.
What to Expect on the At The Top – Burj Khalifa Tour: What Should You Expect?
First, you’ll enter a room featuring a miniature tower representing the Burj Khalifa. This is a great opportunity to take a souvenir photo.
Next, you’ll head to one of the 57 elevators to go up to the 124th floor. On the walls of the hallways, you can learn about the history of the tower and its construction. Theexperience in the world’s fastest elevator is impressive: the ride takes exactly 1 minute! The ascent has other surprises in store for you, but we won’t give everything away 😉
You’ll then arrive at the outdoor terrace on the 124th floor, where you can take some beautiful photos. You can also go up to the 125th floor. You’ll then be at 456 metersaltitude!
Here, you’ll enjoy a 360° view from an indoor room. Various experiences await you there, including the Burj Khalifa Glass Floor. This glass floor simulates a view over the city, which cracks with every step you take. Our kids loved it!

Angel wings are also set up in certain corners of the room, letting you strike a pose for an iconic photo!
Floors 124, 125, and 148
Burj Khalifa At the Top Sky Tickets: 124th, 125th, and 148th Floors
Admission to At The Top Sky is limited in terms of the number of people. Only about 50 visitors are allowed at a time per time slot.

What’s included in the Burj Khalifa “At The Top Sky” ticket:
- Access to the elevator ride
- Access to the 148th-floor indoor lounge with a 360° view
- Complimentary refreshments: coffee or tea, dates, and pastries
- Access to the outdoor terrace on the 124th floor
- Access to the indoor lounge on the 125th floor
Far fewer people. A VIP experience with light refreshments. The option to go down to the 124th and 125th floors
Higher price that varies depending on the time of visit. Taking photos from the lounge is more difficult due to reflections on the windows
Admission to At The Top Sky is limited. Only about 50 people can access the 148th floor at any given time (per time slot).
The experience is therefore very different from the 124th floor. Fewer people, quieter. Complimentary coffee, tea, and dates. You’re sort of a VIP 😉
Ticket reservations required
Since admission is limited, you must reserve your tickets in advance if you wish to go up to the 148th floor of the Burj Khalifa.
As with most attractions in Dubai, please note that ticket prices vary depending on the time slot you choose. It is generally more expensive at sunset.
Tour Itinerary for At The Top Sky – Burj Khalifa
The first part of the tour is the same as for the ascent to “At the Top.” The only difference is that you’ll wait in a lounge with tea, coffee, dates, and pastries instead of standing in a waiting area.
You’ll then take the elevator up to the observation deck on the 148th floor—555 meters above sea level —the highest in the world! Settle into one of the sofas in the large lounge and take in the 360° view. Visit time is normally limited, but we’ve never had a visitor asked to cut their visit short. Enjoy this special moment!
You can then head back down to the outdoor terrace on the 124th floor to take some great photos without any reflections on the windows.
Tickets for the 152nd, 153rd, and 154th Floors
Burj Khalifa The Lounge Bar Tickets: 152nd, 153rd and 154th floors
This feels more like a lounge bar than an observation deck. In fact, it’s the world’s highest bar, at a height of 575 meters! There aren’t many tourists here, and if you want to visit, reservations are required and the experience is quite expensive.

What’s included in the Burj Khalifa’s “The Lounge” ticket:
- Elevator access to the 152nd floor
- Access to the 152nd, 153rd, and 154th floors
- Drinks and meals based on the selected time slot
Far fewer people. A VIP experience with a light meal. The option to go down to the 124th and 125th floors
Access to The Lounge Burj Khalifa does not include the option to go down and enjoy the observation decks on the 124th, 125th, and 148th floors.
The Lounge offers 3 food and beverage options depending on the time of day you go up:
- Between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m., it’s time for Afternoon Tea, a mix of sweet and savory treats
- At 5:00 PM, it’s time for the Bubbly Sundowner: enjoy the sunset with canapés and drinks
- Between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.: enjoy cocktails and canapés while exploring Dubai by night

Burj Khalifa Deal: Save Money with the Dubai Explorer Pass
Admission to At The Top is included in the Dubai Explorer Pass. This great deal will save you money on several activities. The pass gives you access to at least 4 activities, including the 124th and 125th floors of the Burj Khalifa. It also includes a desert safari or a boat tour on Dubai’s Fountain Lake.
What to see at the top of the Burj Khalifa?
First things first: a breathtaking view! At the foot of the Burj Khalifa lies the Burj Khalifa Lake. It’s an artificial lake where the famous Dubai Fountains show takes place. You’ll also see the city’s various skyscrapers and the Dubai Mall.
On a clear day, you can see the desert, the artificial islands The World and Palm Jumeirah, as well as the Burj Al Arab. A great opportunity to enjoy the best view and see the city of Dubai from way up high !
No matter which observation deck you choose (there are three), you can’t go all the way to the top of the Burj Khalifa. That’s actually our biggest regret…
The tower stands 828 meters tall, including a 200-meter antenna. The highest point open to the public is The Lounge, located 575 meters above ground. No matter what, you’ll experience an incredible feeling: that of being on top of the world.
Visiting the Burj Khalifa: Practical Information
Where is the world’s tallest skyscraper? How do you get there?
The Burj Khalifa is located in the Downtown district of Dubai—1 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard.
Access is via the Dubai Mall. Head to the Lower Ground level. Then follow the signs to the entrance of the Burj Khalifa.
Please note, as mentioned above, your tickets correspond to specific time slots. Don’t be late. Since the mall is very large, plan ahead so you don’t arrive late and miss your time slot.

What is the best time of day to visit the Burj Khalifa?
The best time to visit the Burj Khalifa is at sunset, between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Check the sunset time and book your tickets 45 minutes beforehand. That way, you’ll get to enjoy the sunset over Dubai… 🤩
However, this exceptional experience comes at a price. Ticket prices for the Burj Khalifa vary depending on the time of day. Tickets are more expensive at dusk.
The History of the Burj Khalifa
Located in the southern part of Dubai’s historic center, the Burj Khalifa is part of a massive urban development project.
Originally, the tower was supposed to be 560 meters tall. However, the architect, Emaar, decided to make it even taller. Their goal was to make it the tallest skyscraper in the world. Construction took five years, from late 2004 to December 2009.

The Burj Khalifa was originally supposed to be called Burj Dubai.
It was named after Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, former president of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Abu Dhabi. He donated $10 billion to build this skyscraper.
The construction of this building is a technical feat, and its design resembles the petals of a desert flower: the‘Hymenocallis.
How tall is the Burj Khalifa?
The Burj Khalifa is 828 meters tall, including a 200-meter spire. To give you an idea, it is 2.5 times taller than the Eiffel Tower. The Burj Khalifa is visible from as far as 90 km away!
It’s worth noting that an even taller tower is currently under construction in Dubai: the Dubai Creek Tower. It will stand 1,000 meters tall and is set to feature a breathtaking observation deck!

Andre Larsen filmed a video of the Burj Khalifa using his drone. He simulated, at free-fall speed, what a jump from the top of the Burj Khalifa would look like. A 163-story descent with views of the Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountains, and Souk Al Bahar.
